Jim Altiere has been a member of Savage & Associates since 2001. His practice is concentrated in the areas of business services, corporate group benefits, including designing group retirement plans, health, life and disability insurance, and executive compensation plans. He also provides personal financial strategies, including retirement planning for individuals near retirement. He specializes in handling qualified plan rollovers. As an attorney, Jim understands estate planning and can work with his client's attorneys, accountants, and other professionals in structuring estate plans that meet the client's goals and objectives.

Experience

After graduating from The University of Toledo, Jim served as corporate counsel for a health care management company. In additiona, he securied the company's benefit plans and served as the plan administrator for the 401(k) and voluntary benefits plans. As a result, Jim knows what his clients are looking for. To better perform his duties as plan administrator, Jim became a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) in 1996. In 1999, Jim established Altiere Financial Services, Inc., a comprehensive financial services and investment firm in Monroe, Michigan. His desire to provide his clients with a higher level of service, where he could interact with other financial services professionals, led him to join Savage & Associates in 2001. Along with his CFP, Jim is licensed to sell life, accident, and health insurance in Ohio and Michigan. He also has his series 7 and 63 licenses.

Education

Jim received his B.S.B.A. in 1985 from Ohio State University, where he majored in accounting. He graduated from The University of Toledo College of Law and also received his M.B.A. from the business school, with a concentration in finance. He is currently working on a Masters in financial planning.

Personal

Jim and his wife, Suzie, live in Monroe, Michigan. They have four sons-Jeffrey and Rainier are twins, Creston, and Ramin. Jim served on the City of Monroe Charter Revision Commission. He supports the Boy Scouts of America, is an Eagle Scout and an assistant scoutmaster. Jim is a member of the Financial Planning Association, Rotary Club of Monroe, State Bar of Michigan, Monroe County Bar Association and Toledo Bar Association.
